About me

Hello and welcome to The Faucet!

I’m Kirsten: mom, wife, college instructor & academic strategist, runner, hockey player, podcast junkie, reader, and writer, just to name a few. So why The Faucet? Well, I’m inspired by the words of prolific writer Louis L’ Amour:

Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.

In the past I’ve been overwhelmed by advice from blogs about blogging, which always say that writing much fit into a specific niche. That advice is confining, and paralyzing. No more! My goal is simply to turn on the faucet, and write every Monday, no matter what.

So, here you’ll find posts of reflection that help me process and build meaning from life events, the odd piece of bad poetry, and ideas on the things I’ve been thinking a lot about, which, you may already noticed, is often this crazy journey into motherhood, and, lately, what life is like during the Covid-19 pandemic.
